Covid-19 pandemic has started since december 31th, 2019, and it isn’t over yet. Since  more than 2 years have passed, a lot of changes have occurred. One of the differences is the learning gap between students.

This learning gap has been a serious problem since 2020. According to ‘The current situation of the COVID-19 educational gap in 2020’, after the schools started non-face-to-face classes, the learning loss has risen. At 75.9% of the middle school and 66.1% of the high school, the number of students whose math score is in the middle has decreased. It means that the score gap has increased.

In 2021, this gap became more serious. According to a nationwide survey, 71.1% of the respondents said yes to the question ‘did the learning gap increase due to the pandemic?’ Also, 70.7% of the respondents agreed that the dependence toward private tutoring has deepened.

Therefore, the government presented various policies to prevent further problems. After the Educational Recovery Support Committee Meeting which took place on january 13th, 2022, they provided supplementary learning, mentoring with university students, and mentoring with friends. Also, students can consult about their stress, and can be educated about ways to overcome stress.
